Doctors, organizers of today's World Ivermectin Day claim it is "The Key to End the Pandemic"
2021-07-26
[Contra Costa Herald] A day for the recognition of Ivermectin — "Covid is treatable with ivermectin and can end the pandemic"

By British Ivermectin Recommendation Development Group

An international coalition of medical professionals together with journalists, musicians, artists and others, have established World Ivermectin Day this Saturday 24 July 2021, with the aim of sharing the evidence-based message that the cheap, safe and easily-distributed medicine ivermectin can remove the fear of the covid pandemic to lives and economies. (See North America video)

According to the National Institutes of Health, Ivermectin is a Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved antiparasitic drug that is used to treat several neglected tropical diseases, including onchocerciasis, helminthiases, and scabies.

Reports from in vitro studies suggest that ivermectin acts by inhibiting the host importin alpha/beta-1 nuclear transport proteins, which are part of a key intracellular transport process that viruses hijack to enhance infection by suppressing the host’s antiviral response. In addition, ivermectin docking may interfere with the attachment of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) spike protein to the human cell membrane.

Some studies of ivermectin have also reported potential anti-inflammatory properties, which have been postulated to be beneficial in people with COVID-19.

#9  World Ivermectin Day

Just keep scrolling, memes at bottom.

Youtube cancelled a meeting supporting ivermectin that was being watched by 3,000 people

Organised by (MAECC) Malaysian Doctors and others supporting ivermectin, it was one of the first World Ivermectin Day events….

The video was one of the first World Ivermectin Day events to go up on July 24, 2021 (you can watch it here.) However – censorship of Ivermectin is not unexpected.

YouTube says content about Ivermectin for the prevention or treatment of COIVD-19 is not supported by health authorities around the world, and thus they cannot host knowledgeable discussions about Ivermectin on their platform. But YouTube has no problem hosting content recommending Tylenol for COVID-19. Go figure.

We regard ivermectin as a core medication in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. For comprehensive information on ivermectin please refer to our Review of the Emerging Evidence Supporting the Use of Ivermectin in the Prophylaxis and Treatment of COVID-19 and the included references.

Rushworth: Update on Ivermectin for COVID-19:

What we see is a 62% reduction in the relative risk of dying among covid patients treated with ivermectin. That would mean that ivermectin prevents roughly three out of five covid deaths. The reduction is statistically significant (p-value 0,004). In other words, the weight of evidence supporting ivermectin continues to pile up. It is now far stronger than the evidence that led to widespred use of remdesivir earlier in the pandemic, and the effect is much larger and more important (remdesivir was only ever shown to marginally decrease length of hospital stay, it was never shown to have any effect on risk of dying).

Sebastian Rushworth M.D.:

I am a proponent of evidence based medicine. In other words, I think that medical diagnosis and treatment should be guided by the scientific evidence, not by expert opinion or personal anecdote, and certainly not by salespeople working for pharmaceutical companies.

#3  Anecdotal evidence for the usefulness of both HCQ and Ivermectin seems compelling and the risks are low --- but actual data-based scientific studies have not shown much, if any, benefit. It would be easier to believe those studies if the scientific 'community' had not damaged its credibility so severely with 'noble lies.'
