Affirmative Action Is Discrimination
2021-07-01
[Citizen Free Press]

If groups differ at the mean and the margin of selection is far in the right tail of an ability distribution, then defining "equity" as consisting in an approximate parity across groups of their presence among the selected is a statistical fool's errand. No good can come of that. pic.twitter.com/cccKD1pCvI

Dr. Glenn Loury has some thoughts on merit.

"Live a life of dignity" or suffer "a fundamental demoralization". It's our choice. That's my story and I'm stickin' with it at https://t.co/ZICguBef8A pic.twitter.com/F33d8mM7O8

#9  Read the “Bell Curve” by Herrnstien and Murray. Businesses hire smart people because they are more efficient. Instead of college many people, of all races should take trade school classes. I did that and had a very successful career. About half way thru I went to college, with company.assistance,.

#2  Lets not forget who the main beneficiaries of affirmative action are.

#1  Affirmative Action has been in practice in the US for 50 years. Initially it was pretty useful, e.g., putting out flyers in black neighborhoods to inform people of municipal sponsored summer jobs.

Then it morphed, sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly, into quotas.
