[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A witness to the blaze in railway arches on Elephant Road filmed the blast at around 2.10pm this afternoon, while others posted images of the massive smoke clouds filling the skies of the capital. LFB said three commercial units underneath the railway arches were completely alight and four cars and a telephone box were also on fire near Elephant and Castle station.
At the height of the blaze, ten fire engines and around 100 firefighters were tackling the fire, London Fire Brigade said, but the fire is now under control. Crews remain on scene for the next few hours to dampen down the site and ensure the flames are out
London Fire Brigade (LFB) said shortly before 4pm that the fire close to Elephant and Castle station was 'under control', but its crews will remain in place 'for the next few hours to dampen down the scene'.
Road closures are still in place as people are advised to avoid the area while the London Ambulance Service has advised those who live in the surrounding area to keep their windows closed.
The service received 50 reports of a fire in a nearby garage from at 1.43pm. Six people were treated by ambulance crews and one was taken to hospital, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) has said.

There are significant road closures in place and the public are advised to avoid the area.
The incident is not believed to be terror related.
