ISIS attacks Federal Police and martyrs five members south of Kirkuk, RPGs and mortar bombs found in Hawija

[NINANEWS] A security source announced the death of five members of the Federal Police south of Kirkuk.

The source said that ISIS terrorist gangs attacked a point belonging to the second regiment within the 20th Brigade of the Fifth Division, Federal Police, with direct fire with light and medium weapons, after which they were seen by the point and four mortar bombs were fired, where they fled, and after about half an hour the gangs returned, and the attack led to the death of five members of the aforementioned point, and the burning of a Humvee near the village of Shabija Saud, 45 km west of Daquq district, south of Kirkuk.
Rudaw adds:
The source said the attack took place at about 11 PM on Thursday evening in the Wadi al-Hamamat area of Daquq district, where ISIS elements launched an attack on a federal police security point.

Rudaw English has reached out to federal police in Kirkuk but no one was immediately available for comment.

ISIS responded to the attack on its Telegram channel on Friday, saying their Lions of Islam killed one soldier and injured another west of Kirkuk late on Thursday by firing at them. They also claimed they destroyed a thermal camera.

When more police came to the aid of the targeted cop shoppe, the ISIS Lions of Islam set up a "trap" for them by attacking them with rifles and rockets, according to their announcement. The Lions of Islam also went kaboom! a previously-planted roadside kaboom targeting the security forces.

"This led to the destruction of a Hummer vehicle and damaged another one as well as the death of five fighters and the injuries of others," the bad boy group said on Telegram.

In its weekly al-Nabaa newspaper on Thursday, ISIS grabbed credit for 36 separate attacks in Iraq between June 17 and June 23, including 9 in Kirkuk.

RPG And Mortar Bombs Found In Kirkuk

[NINANEWS] The Federal Police Forces Command announced today, Friday, the seizure of RBG7 launchers and mortar bombs, during inspections in Kirkuk Governorate.

The command said in a statement, "A force from the 9th Brigade, the 3rd Federal Police Division, supported by the intelligence effort, carried out a wide search operation in Brij village in Hawija district of Kirkuk,
... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time...
which resulted in the discovery of 3 RBG7 launchers and a 120mm mortar bomb."

The statement indicated that "a force from the division's tenth brigade began an inspection duty within the responsibility sector of the 1st regiment in Hawija district, during which two RBG7 launchers were found."

According to the statement, the Eleventh Brigade, the Third Division, carried out a security operation to search and inspect Mazhariya area in Hawija district, which resulted in the discovery of 4 mortar rounds of different types, and two SPG9 missiles, confirming that all materials were removed and destroyed by the engineering detachments.
