#3 Among these documents is a special message "On the atrocities of the German occupiers against prisoners of war and civilians in the city of Simferopol", sent on April 24, 1944 by the head of the Soviet military counterintelligence department Smersh of the 51st Army, Colonel Alexander Nikiforov, addressed to the head of the Smersh department of the 4th Ukrainian Front, General Major Nikolai Kovalchuk, as well as the conclusion of the front military counterintelligence on the materials of the investigation of those atrocities. #1 Thanks for posting. I forwarded it to a couple of fellows who were at one time, deeply involved in US Gov't POW issues and related things involving Russia. They are now busy with other pursuits and hobbies. Understandably, I doubt they will respond. |
