#17 P.E. Civil - cannot take much from early photos, but the failure doesn't seem like a blast due to location, elements hit. Ima guessrn bad construction: inadequate rebar coverage in salt environment, early days of design/construct of PT deck construction... |

#13 Looks like the building was dropped as in a controlled explosion. It's possible the building didn't have adequate support with the 3 support columns at the ground level--kind of a single-point failure situation. If so bad design. |

#12 ISTR the damage to the Murrow Building had a "vertical crater" appearance -- this appears to follow the structure of the building. Plus, as swksvolFF noted, no sign of a shockwave on surrounding buildings. |

#5 NOTE: Look at the daylight photo. The 8777 Collins Ave building is 40 years old. Note: google has a Jan. 2021 street view. A 3 bed/2 bath unit/ 1,748 square feet, sells for over $700k??? Look at the building's left side... the massive 10 story overhang supported by just 3 pillars. |
