#4 Really liked his roll in 1941 where he takes on a Japanese sub with an antiaircraft gun after having to "reverse engineer" the loading and firing process. |

#3 Beatty could play a believable part on either side of the line. I always liked him as nearly burnt-out, marriage disillusioned but still wary detective Stan Bolander in Homicide: Life on the Street. |
