#7  I've got this feeling that much of the money will be siphoned off to re-elect party cronies and rig elections to make this happen. Trump's America first polices were working until Covid-19 hit across the world.

#5  ^Talk to Russians. Not only their expertise on managing sensitive information exceeds the Americans by orders of magnitude, their motivation to clip China's wings does as well.

#4  Why bother? Anything someone comes up with, they'll steal. Either through the usual poor computer security or the long traditional means of bribery.

Now creating false fronts which deal in dead end or ultimately failed/fake technology in sort of a honey trap, that would be an interesting investment.

#2  ^ Exactly. Slap tariffs on China and then let good old American entrepreneurs do their thing. Won't cost the taxpayers a single penny.

#1  Crony capitalism. It'll end up in the pockets of the politically connected, not the entrepreneurs we need. See: Solyndra.
