Meghan Markle's new book fails to top the bestseller list
2021-06-09
[PAGESIX] Princess Meghan Markle
...unlikable American former starlet married to the formerly likable Prince Harry. Chock full of lefty political opinions and not many brains, Markle's most important characteristic is that she is Black, even though she doesn't look it. Her mother, y'see, is half black and her father is white, which would make her a quarter Black. Her half brother described her (to her husband, before their marriage) as a jaded, shallow, conceited woman that will make a joke of you and the royal family heritage. Once married, she was too classy for the Royals and she and Harry decamped to Beverly Hills, kind of like the Clampetts did, thus making a joke of Harry and the royal family heritage...
’s debut children’s book, "The Bench," failed to top the bestsellers list in the UK on its release date, the Daily Mail reported Tuesday.

Markle, who welcomed her second child with husband Prince Harry
on Friday, made it to the No. 205 spot on the Amazon UK chart, according to the report. It is currently at No. 67 in children’s books.

As of Tuesday morning, "The Bench" — which also features an illustration of the Sussexes’ newborn daughter — currently has a rating of 4 stars out of a possible 5 with 20 reviews.
*snort* those are the publisher's interns voting
"The Bench," which was illustrated by Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, artist Christian Robinson, explores "the special relationship between father and son, as seen through a mother’s eyes," according to the book’s description.

#3  Every moron in Hollyweird will buy two. Probably people who work on the back lots for peanuts will each get a copy with the retail price deducted from their pay.

#2  When its politics your party buys them up to ensure the publisher gets their money back. I don't see who would be paying for the books in this case. I think the Publisher backed a bad bet.

#1  If I understand the bestseller grift, the payoff is not in copies sold, but that you get a big-ass advance up front.
