| Over 300 tents burned in a fire in Sharya Camp for Yezidi IDPs from Shengal near Dohuk |

On Friday afternoon, a fire broke out in Sharya Camp for Yezidy IDPs in Dohuk governorate and the tents that were affected by the fire were completely burnt. While extinguishing the fire, four individuals, of which two were IDPs and two were civil defense forces, were slightly burnt, according to an eyewitness in the camp. IDPs said that they did not manage to save their documents and children’s clothes from the fire. So far, official authorities have not reveal the reasons that cause the fire, which lasted for about two hours before being extinguished. Sharya Camp, which houses about 20,000 IDPs distributed in 4,000 tents, was established in 2015 months after an attack by the Islamic State (ISIS) on Sinjar District in 2014. |
