Fauci: I Trust Scientists in China to Be Truthful and Forthcoming on COVID Origins
2021-05-30
[BREITBART] During an interview aired on Friday’s broadcast of SiriusXM Urban View’s "The Joe Madison Show," White House Chief Medical Adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci said that he trusts scientists in China to be honest about the origins of COVID-19 and that you have to make a distinction between scientists in China and the country’s government.

Host Joe Madison asked, "Do you trust the scientists, your colleagues? You have to work with them in China. Do you trust them to be honest and forthcoming?"

Fauci responded, "Well, yeah. Yeah, I think that you have to have a difference between the scientists in China and the Chinese government. I don’t have much insight into the latter. We’ve worked with Chinese scientists for decades and decades, in a collaborative manner with influenza, with bird flu, with a variety of other diseases. And our experience with the scientists has been that they have been of good faith, they’re talented, many of them have made major accomplishments in science, and that’s the reason why we’ve worked with them."

#17  Many recent internet articles about the devaluation of experts by the general population, based on their observations of the performance of those experts

Well, how does one become an "expert?" First there's the credentialing process to gain initial entry to the clerisy. As everyone outside the academic bubble now knows, the credential factories are themselves corrupt, so, at step one, the "expert in training" is part of a corrupt process.
Next, having obtained credentials, the "expert in training" has to come under the tutelage of an existing expert. That individual got where they are by playing the appropriate political games to get grants, fellowships, appointments to gummint run or associated institutions (think WHO, NIH, CDC, St. Fauxi's home base of NIAID) So, now our "expert in training is twice tainted. Now, under tutelage, our EIT learns how to also play the political games and slithers along the course.

TADA! Newly minted "expert." Who will now train more "up and comers." Can you say "recursively corrupt system," kids? I knew ya could...

Marilyn Vos Savant was asked "What makes a person an expert?" Her reply: "An expert is someone who not only knows everything about a subject, but also knows which of that stuff is wrong."

Richard Feynman asked to comment on a lecture he obviously disagreed with "That wasn't even wrong."

#5  ....and that you have to make a distinction between scientists in China and the country’s government.

Truly a distinction without a difference.
