[Delfi] On the night of Saturday, May 8, as part of the Swift Response exercise, about 600 paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division of the US Army were dropped at Nurmsi airfield. In addition to the infantry, three vehicles and two howitzers landed on the field.Most of the paratroopers were transferred to Estonia directly from the Fort Bragg division base in North Carolina, USA - the flight took about ten hours. The landing over the Nurmsi airfield was carried out from a height of 300 meters using military transport aircraft C-17, as well as C-130, which delivered paratroopers from Lithuania.
