China's greenhouse gas emissions exceed those of US and EU combined
2021-05-07
h/t HotAir
China alone contributed over 27% of total global emissions, far exceeding the US—the second highest emitter—which contributed 11% of the global total (Figure 1). For the first time, India edged out the EU-27 for third place, coming in at 6.6% of global emissions.

In 2019, China’s GHG emissions passed the 14 gigaton threshold for the first time, reaching 14,093 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent (MMt CO2e) (Figure 2). This represents a more than tripling of 1990 levels, and a 25% increase over the past decade. As a result, China’s share of the 2019 global emissions total of 52 gigatons rose to 27%.
Still waiting to hear from Greta.

Another way to look at it...
We are slowly choking China to death by producing all of our consumables there, instead of here.

#5  Not sure who this Rhodium Group is, but the article is emissions in general - planes, trains, automobiles, scooters, ships, refuse burning, whatever.

#4   In other words, Chinese industrial production exceeds those of the US and EU combined.

They are certainly headed in that direction. But it also means the Chinese are more concerned about the power to be gained from industrialization than they are about the environment or so-called global warming. They could no doubt spend some of their profits on clean burning power plants but they'd rather use dirty old technology and spend the profits on their military.

You'd think all these woke environmentalists in the US and the EU, if they were really serious, would boycott China.

#3  Has science (if anyone cares anymore) shown that greenhouse gases (CO2) present the danger they have been made out to be? Or is this more "The Sky is Falling" rhetoric?

Where we live, "urban creep" has taken many of the surrounding wooded areas in the name of "development." Wooded areas soak up a lot of CO2. How about planting more trees?
