2021-04-18
[ToloNews] The US will likely increase the presence of its troops in Afghanistan temporarily over the coming weeks and months to fulfill President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect to be found in the World's Greatest Deliberative Body....
’s order to safely withdraw all forces from the country by Sept. 11, the Pentagon said Friday.

#6  I’m guessing that SLOC is sea lanes of communication rather than source lines of code or standby letter of credit.

Is MIC made in China, Varmint the Infinitesmal5301? The Free Dictionary has 137 meanings for the acronym, including moron in charge, which strikes me as the other likely prospect...

#4  A mild dissent: you want your income, or assets, or retirement portfolio to be sound? If those are in America and denominated in $, then you damn well want the US economy and US-based rules to dominate, with the $ as the reserve currency.

And those things -- that global economic system - depends crucially on the USN and the USAF.

If the SLOCs aren't open, and China's not restrained, then no more stability. No stability, and you can expect your $-denominated assets to halve in value in short order.

So yeah, the MIC in this country is a small price to pay for some $50 trillion+ in Americans' personal wealth that's on the line.

A good bargain for us. Probably for the world as well - definitely for all the Asian nations and for Mexico.

So Praise the Lord, and pass the pork ammunition

#3  If you aren’t fighting evildoers somewhere everyday, a whole lot of defense contractors lose the cash flow and overhead needed to pay the bribes and cushy consultancy costs of the surreptitious DoD flag officer retirement plans. Status Quo across the Potomac has become another facet of the swamp.

#2  /\ Political narratives and Kabuki dancing be damned! The start, conduct, and finish of these conflicts is not decided in the oval office or the congress. Least of all the congress.

BTW, mine is not an anecdotal comment or view of the minority.

#1  Yet again, the Pentagon refuses to follow the orders of a sitting President.
