![]() But a more plausible and persuasive explanation for why Major League Baseball did what it did has emerged in the past few days in various places. It is a virtual certainty that if MLB had not caved in to the pressure at the league level, the left-wing interest groups agitated over the issue would have shifted their efforts towards pressuring individual players who were likely to be voted by fans to play in the game. I am not persuaded; sounds like damage control to me. #3 The Aztec God Huitzilopochtli, the deity of war, the Sun and human sacrifice was well pleased with the game of ullamaliztli. The matches were very well attended. The great Roman coliseums are now tourist attractions and the Aztec have long been assimilated. Game and society over. Man's debauchery and slaughter appears to run in cycles. You may draw your own conclusions. |

Probably just saying 'Boo!' would have done it; and there would have been zero repercussions on the players. Mike |
