Biden Adviser Richmond: Republicans Need to Stop Hiding Behind Second Amendment — It's Not Meant for 'Weapons of War'
2021-04-10
[BREITBART] Biden senior adviser Cedric Richmond said Thursday on MSNBC’s "The Rachel Maddow Show" that President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem mschine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family......
was determined to do "something about gun violence" so Republicans who "have hid behind the Second Amendment for far too long" need to respond to public demand for gun regulations on "weapons of war."Richmond said, "I know President Biden’s passion about doing something about gun violence and creating sensible gun laws along with Vice President Harris, and I think the country is shifting too."
But the 2nd Amendment's precisely intended to cover weapons of war. "A well-regulated militia" isn't the same as "for the amusement of the citizenry."
He continued, "Republicans and NRA have hid behind the Second Amendment for far too long. When the Second Amendment was written, people were stuffing gunpowder into a musket to shoot. Now you have guns that can shoot 100 rounds in a minute, and that’s just completely different. These are weapons of war. They’re weapons of mass destruction. They have no place on the streets of America. We have a president now who will call out all of those who oppose safe neighborhoods, safe streets, and stopping the carnage on the streets of America."

Guest-host Nicolle Wallace said, "I say this with respect, Cedric, but have you met today’s Republican Party?"

Richmond said, "I have, but I think that the people in the country are more powerful than they’ve ever been and that the demand is there."

He added, "Public support for sensible gun regulations up in the 80s, almost at 90%. For some things like universal background checks, it’s in the 90s. I think Republicans are either going to move with the times, or the voting population will move them out."

#6  The Constitution also established the idea of Congress granting private ship owners license to hunt enemy merchants and transports. That would require weapons of war. Therefore, the 2nd covers "weapons of war".

Also, at the time there was no difference between your hunting rifle and the one you took to war. Therefore, the 2nd covers "weapons of war".

#5  Sure thing Shotgun Joe.

But not hiding behind, standing in front.

"Public support for sensible gun regulations up in the 80s, almost at 90%. For some things like universal background checks, it’s in the 90s. I think Republicans are either going to move with the times, or the voting population will move them out."

Which is why executive suggestions are needed?

If it were that high, it would correct itself.

Call the Amendment Process then.

Can't find guns or ammo for demand, but 90% bans. Sounds legit.

Big Gov's pitch man is like a shitty fisher, just bad lines everywhere when he isn't tangled.

#2  The new Congress in 1792 passed two Militia Acts. The first described who were the militia. The second directed the members of the militia to arm themselves with the same weapon and equipment issued to the infantry of the very small US Army. The founders trusted their security in the people, not a large standing army or constabulary. Everything else is a lie to cover those facts.

#1  There's not a single word in the 2nd amendment about distinguishing different types of arms or their use. There's not a word about "hunting" either...
