Special Operations Command investigating new diversity zampolit's posts berating Trump, Cruz
2021-03-29
[Just The News] The U.S. Special Operations Command is investigating social media posts from its newly hired executive who spread anti-Donald Trump memes and compared the former president to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, a spokesperson told Just the News.
One picture, a thousand words.
"We are aware of the situation, and the command has initiated an investigation," Special Operations Command spokesman Ken McGraw wrote in a Sunday email.

The executive, Richard Torres-Estrada, recently was hired to be the first Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at the vast Tampa, Florida-based command, known as SOCOM.

"Mr. Torres-Estrada has nearly two decades worth of experience working diversity and inclusion programs and activities in federal agencies," SOCOM managers announced Friday on Facebook and Instagram. Noting that the new position dovetails with an overall plan for the command, the managers wrote: "We look forward to Mr. Torres-Estrada’s contribution in enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of #SOF through diversity of talent, helping us recruit the best of the best."

Media sleuths quickly found, though, that Torres-Estrada had shared a number of political posts some considered to be non-inclusive.

One meme on a Facebook page that appears to belong to Torres-Estrada features a photograph of a saluting Hitler juxtaposed with a photo of Trump holding up a Bible in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church. Another meme is a photo of Trump surrounded by quotes attributed to former advisers calling Trump "an idiot," "a dope," and "a moron."

Another meme purports to be a "missing" poster for Sen. Ted Cruz, describing him as having "weird" facial hair and as having left his state "in the middle of a natural disaster."

#29  Could we in a show of solidarity put him through spetsnaz training? I'm sure the Russian instructors will be extra gentle with him.

#28  @ #23 - Yeah, I thought he looked familiar. I tipped him once for bagging my groceries.

#22  bunched around the shoulder, maybe. Or else he has no real shoulders ... an upper body shaped like a clothes hanger

#21  # 19 I personally prefer the Windsor knot, but lambchop here has to push it far enough to cover the collar button. Also, his jacket is bunched especially around the right shoulder. Pro tip: Pull the jacket tight or sit on the jacket tails before you take a seated photo. And if you're going to wear a tie clasp an an homage to the '70's, get it out of the photo frame.

#20  Someone needs to tell him

... his husband?

#19   cool tie, massive knot,

The large knot is necessary to fill in the space of the spread collar, a subtle choice to make his face and neck look less pudgy. Someone needs to tell him that if he is going to colour his hair to hide the grey, he needs to do his eyebrows to match.

#17  In 1966 the No. 1 hit single was "Ballad of the Green Berets" by Sgt. Barry Sadler. Which would now have to be rewritten as something like:

"Fighting diversity and inclusion executives from the sky..."

#16  Ah, an "investigation." The simplest and surest way to bury everything in an impenetrable bureaucratic morass.

#12  When the Civil War goes kinetic, most of the good troops will fight for the states that leave and what is left will be taken out by an angry girl scout troop.

#11  #8 haha... yes that massive knot is what a Eurofag or GQ reader would sport. And this guy was hired by not just DoD but SOCOM. To reconstitute our elite warrior cadres. Unf'ingbelievable.

#6  if your task is to 'promote diversity' when do you know you have accomplished said task?

Is an NFL football team diverse enough?

Is an NHL hockey team diverse enough?

#5  Oh, I don't know... looking at his picture he has SOCOM just written all over him. Zampolit.

#4  Deep State failed to learn the lesson of Iraq that when you replace your officer corps with 'politically' connected officers and throw out competent ones, it only took a second rate varsity team to nearly take it all if it hadn't received outside help.
