Surviving WW2 Veteran Recounts Harrowing Story Of The Lack Of Trans Representation On D-Day

[Babylon Bee] LINCOLN, NE—One of the last surviving veterans who survived the D-Day invasion, Otto Bernard, opened up to reporters recently to tell his harrowing story of the bloody fight against entrenched German forces on Omaha Beach. According to Bernard, his terrifying experience was made even worse by a complete lack of trans representation among the soldiers.

"I landed with the 29th division in the first wave," said Bernard with a far-off look in his eyes. "As the DD Tanks hit the beach, we were showered with machine-gun fire that tore us to pieces."

"And as I looked around, I realized to my horror that there was a complete lack of trans representation. Just a bunch of biological men. Heck-- there weren't even any women." he said as tears formed and his voice began to shake.

"I'm totally embarrassed to have been a part of it," he said quietly. "We were wrong to thumb our noses at the value of diversity. Imagine how much better the invasion would have gone if we had a few women or at least a couple of trans-women with us. I'm so ashamed..."

Bernard, who was overcome with emotion, asked to cut the interview short. He has volunteered himself for the new military diversity training program to help atone for his sins.

Hints, routinely ignored, are that it says — as Rambler and Frank G jointly point out — Babylon Bee in square brackets at the top of the article and the fact that article is posted in Opinion, as is all intentional humour.

But I must say, NN2N1, your research skills are seriously impressive.

Now lets sit back and see how many others find themselves a dollar poorer today. ;-)

This is a Joke right?

This man claims to be a member of 116th Regiment of 29th and on D-Day.

According to the WWII doc's I looked at:

Otto Bernard
Draft board 104, San Mateo County:
Granite Mountain Record Vault Records (Utah).

These cards represent older men, ages 45 to 65 in April 1942, that were registered for the draft. They had birth dates between 28 Apr 1877 and 16 Feb 1892.
Meaning he'd be 129 + year old.

Of course there could have been 2 Otto Bernard's in the 166th of 29th also.

NOTE:
United States World War II Draft Registration Cards, and other service data is available online... but it takes access certain databases and still a lot of searching.
