2021-03-07 |
Deputies were called on Feb. 19 to a shooting involving a domestic matter at a home in the 2400 block of South Avenue F, which is south of Crowley. Brandon Hebert had been shot and was taken to a local hospital. Investigators identified a "long pattern of domestic abuse" through physical evidence and witness statements where Hebert was the aggressor, Gibson said. The abuse had been going on for about six months. The shooting was thought to have been in self-defense, Gibson said. After his release from the hospital, 32-year-old Hebert was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic abuse, one count of sexual battery, one count of aggravated domestic abuse, one count of second-degree domestic abuse battery, 16 counts of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment and one count of attempted second-degree murder. He is being held without bond. While a mob is being assembled |
