The death rate from COVID-19 is 10 times higher in countries where 50% or more of the population is overweight, according to the federation. From the report’s summary This report shows that in countries where less than half the adult population is classified as overweight the likelihood of death from COVID-19 is a small fraction — around one tenth — of the level seen in countries where more than half the population is classified as overweight. #3 My daughter-in-law is Type 1 diabetic and was not on the early priority list for the shot, but Type 2 diabetics were high priority. Only this week did I find out why - Type 2 are mostly overweight, and that's more of a concern. Her doctor got her an exception and she was vaccinated in late February, about the same time as her 70+ year old parents and her similarly aged in-laws. |
