Mayor Bill de Blasio for video pushing NYC arts while city collapses
2021-02-17
[The Blaze] Popular podcaster Joe Rogan and other cultural commentators blasted New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio over a video touting the arts and culture — featuring mask-wearing dancers doing interpretive jumps on a street, no less — while the city continues to collapse under the weight of several factors, most notably the coronavirus.

While the dancers do their thing, de Blasio explains that "if we really want to bring back the heart and soul of New York City, we need our arts and culture back, and we need people to see it and feel it, to participate in it" — and for folks to know that the "essence of New York City has not been defeated by the coronavirus."

#6  I mean, you tolerate this, fer chrissakes...

A moment momentous: time froze!
Who knows why Joe's boogerhooks rose --
From his lap to his schnoz,
With no hint of a pause --
Oh-so-quickly to POTUS's nose?

Empathy creation, or what?

#5  Not you mods, of course... 'tis a shimmering Kodalisque of creative moderation hereabouts. ;-)

#4  And speaking of the aaaarts...

Thick hicks liked to sing Sacred Harp,
While their cool kids all larped as Jean Arp;
Thus ancients raised koi
For the world to enjoy,
And the mods, inbred nondescript carp.

#3  When federal buildings I wander,
Each office I enter, I ponder
That smug anaconda,
Obama's Ananda
Of ominous smirk, the Joeconda.

#1  The Metropolitan Museum of Art is looking at a shortfall of up to $150 million and that it has begun conversations with auction houses to explore selling some art to ensure the care of others.
