Russian Air Force blows up foreigner-led jihadist training camp in northwest Syria: video
2021-02-06
[AlMasdar] The Russian Aerospace Forces dealt a powerful blow to the foreigner-led Ajnad al-Kavkaz (Soldiers of the Caucasus)
...Chechen-led jihadi group that split from Caucasus Emirate to become the largest of the jihadi groups from the former Soviet Union in Syria — which explains Russia’s interest. They’re affiliated with Al Nusra, and are active in the forested mountains of northern Latakia, but really they’re maintaining their skills while awaiting the glorious world war against Russia, when they’ll finally be able to throw off Russian rule and establish a caliphate in Chechnya. Oddly enough, their long lost cousins, the Circassian jihadis of the Golan, fight under their command...
terrorist group this week, as their warplanes blew up a camp belonging to this faction in northwestern Syria.

The RuVesna.Su YouTube channel released exclusive footage this week of the Russian Aerospace Forces targeting the jihadist training center, which was 17 kilometers northwest of the administrative capital of the Idlib Governorate.

The Su-24M front-line bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces struck with powerful 500-kilogram FAB-500 high-explosive aviation bombs on the headquarters, barracks and vehicles the foreigner-led jihadist organization in northwestern Syria.

In the video below, the Russian Aerospace Forces can be seen targeting the jihadist group’s base and completely destroying it before returning to the Hmemim Airbase along the coast of Latakia.

Ajnad al-Kavkaz is one of the more powerful jihadist groups in Syria, as they have carried out several powerful attacks against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) over the course of the war.

#5  We are not allied with Russia because they do not want it. All the things you complain about were set up during the Bill Clinton presidency. It was a Democrat initiative.

If we were friends with Turkey, we would have arrested Fethullen Gulen as they have repeatedly demanded, and helped them wipe out the Kurds, as they have also repeatedly demanded.

President Trump, The Great Clarifier, started decoupling from China a year before Covid-19 in the teeth of furious shrieking by the bien pensant class, domestic and foreign. But it made such sense that the rest of the world was slowly following our example when Covid came, and the process accelerated. The Biden-Kamala co-presidency may try to turn it back, but the trust in China is broken and they will not succeed.

The fact that half a century ago the experiment of breaking up the Communist monolith by dividing Communist China from the Soviet Union world power was tried — and succeeded, resulting in 1) a mercantilist Russian rump state/regional hegemon that needs oil sales to Europe to upgrade its worn out basic infrastructure and 2) a mercantilist China that desperately needs sales of cheap stuff to the rest of the world to avoid economic collapse and losing the mandate of Heaven — does not keep reasonable people from seeing that the current situation needs different response. Abusing America now for things that happened before most of the world’s population was born is either dumb or an excuse to abuse America. If that was not your intention, you need to apologize and recalibrate. If that was your intention, I’m very tired and short tempered after being up half the night: enjoy my matched set of middle fingers.

#4  kissing the arse of Chinese who hate us and who have caused trillions in damage to us while we harass and annoy a much less powerful nation that hasn't caused any damage to us

I think I see a hint here.

#3  TW, don't you get tired of reflexive Cold War nonsense? NATO should have been disbanded in 1993. We have no national interest in Ukraine or the Caucasus - let alone any worth tweaking and pissing off a great power on its own turf.

Re #1, his point seems to be that Red China's hostility to the US was no barrier to Nixon & Kissinger playing off China against the USSR. This was shortly after the most hysterically rabid mass murderer in modern history has departed the scene, and while his party and hand-picked successor head away.

Today's Russia is far less hostile to the US than Communist China was then, or ever will be. It seems royally stupid for us to be kissing the arse of Chinese who hate us and who have caused trillions in damage to us while we harass and annoy a much less powerful nation that hasn't caused any damage to us - and that doesn't threaten us to nearly the sane extent as China.

#2  Because Russia is anti-US. Don’t you get tired of repeating the same argument that never persuaded before?

As for why we are still aligned with Turkey, it seems to me we mostly aren’t. But making a formal break, when they hold the threat of rampaging jihadi hordes against the throat of Europe, is a touchy situation if we are not prepared for an open war that Europe will not fight.

#1  So please explain: why are we aligned with Islamist Turkey against Christian, anti-jihadist Russia?

Why did we do our level best to harass, trap, stymie and cripple post-Communist Russia while building up a monstrous rival in the form of crony-capitalist / communist China?

Does this make any f---ing sense? Anyone? Bueller?
