[NY Post] Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont, the lawmaker tapped to preside over President Trump's impeachment trial, has been hospitalized, according to multiple reports Tuesday. The 80-year-old Senate president pro tempore was taken to a local hospital and is under observation after he complained that he did not feel well after overseeing the swearing-in of senators as jurors in the trial earlier Tuesday. Leahy at times sounded muffled and out of breath during the proceedings. What will they do if he isn’t back by February 8th to oversee former President Trump’s fake impeachment? The Senate president pro tempore job normally goes to the longest-serving member of the Senate’s majority party. Leahy was first elected in 1974, making him the longest-serving current senator of either party.Update from The Times of Israel at 3:15 a.m. ET: They ran tests and sent him home. Leahy will be chairman once again this year of the Senate Appropriations Committee, a panel that controls a large chunk of the federal budget and will be in the middle of President Joe Foreign Policy Whiz KidBiden ...Candidate for president in 2020. Old, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant... ’s effort to provide more spending to combat the pandemic and recharge the economy. Leahy is the fifth-oldest current senator. Senator Dianne Feinstein ...Dem Senator-for-Life from Caliphornica. She has been a politician since about the time she was weaned. Feinstein was the author of the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban, and tried it a second time in 2012. Feinstein has chaired the Select Committee on Intelligence since 2009. #4 It seems like no one has a stomach for kangaroo trials and lynchings except for Pelosi and her merry band of mad House managers (Raskin, Bang-Bang Swalwell, Castro (Not Fidel but close to), Lieu and others). |

#3 ..the party is never constrained by a Constitution. The party and state are one. "Everything in the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State." |

#2 If Chief Justice of the Supreme Court John Roberts will not preside over the impeachment effort due to the effort being "unconstitutional", why should anyone else pick up the gavel ? Are we not bound by constitutional procedures with or without Chief Justice Roberts ? |
