| Having heard Fred was down with the C-19 and headed to the Hospital. How is he doing?
According to Gloria, Fred is officially recovered from Covid-19, and so was released from the hospital to a rehab center. He is still very weak after nearly a month in the ICU that started shortly after Christmas. Current projections are that he will be in rehab for another 7-10 days, but he has his tablet, and was able to talk Gloria and her loyal assistant through restarting the server that went down just before we published [what would have been] the first set of articles nineteen days ago. Thank goodness he finished and debugged the changeover before all that happened!

| #29 Been jonesin for the Burg like a crackhead since she went down. You just don't realize how much you depend on something til it is gone. 20 years is a long time folks. Cuttin the Burg off cold turkey was harsh, harsh for some of us. Great to see Fred on the mend and all of the regulars back on the comment thread. Thanks Fred for 20 years of the Burg. Now I'll go back to lurking. |

| #7 Recovering. Should be back at it soon. Once again, badanov got there first, and much more efficiently. (Teamwork!) But he has a genuine journalism degree and once was in paid employment for it before moving on to more emphatically practical employment, whereas I spent my childhood intermittently editing one of my favourite scientists’ efforts at English and, eventually, writing poetry. :-) |
