#6 but I wanted to stick up for my friends. Ditto for the ones I have met here in Cincinnati. But the Sikhs in the article seem like the cadre of IRA bad boys back home as compared to all the lovely Irish descendants over here. |

#5 Well, non Muslims, as you say, tw. No doubt there is a religious element in Sikh militancy, but I can’t call it jihad. Formidable people, individually and collectively. They have been peaceful - or pacified- for a long while, on the Indian side, at least. No doubt both sides are using the other (on thePak side) This report is not good news. I admit to a personal interest- there is a Sikh community in my part of ther world, the North coast of NSW,, Australia.. They came out here after the war to farm bananas at a little town called Woolgoolga, and from the beginning were respected and welcomed as hard working, absolutely honest people. My grandfather, not the easiest man to please, preferred gangs of Sikh cane cutters on our family sugar cane farm- they were such good workers. And since then I have found myself liking much about the many Sikhs I have met. Bagwhant and Balbir, our next door neighbors in another little country town, lovely people. I’m rambling a bit- it’s 3.35 am here! - but I wanted to stick up for my friends. Thanks, tw. |

#4 I would not call the Sikhs jihadis. They are not Muslims, to be sure, but they appear to be willing to act as sock puppets for Pakistan’s ISI against India. How would you describe them, Grunter? |
