| Fred has Covid |

| I had a note from Gloria Pruitt today as follows: “Fred will be in hospital at least two weeks. All prayers are needed. Right now he is responding and they are being aggressive from start. Thank you.” Fred Pruitt wasn’t feeling well the day after Christmas — now we know why. I wish I could add something poetically inspirational, but right now I have no words, except please, let him be all right. |

There seems to be some sort of frustrating randomness to this disease, who gets it and how, why it is so severe with some and a walk in the park for others (most?). Us old folks seem to be a common denominator, but other than that... As others have said, Fred is a fighter. This old lapsed altar boy will say a prayer nonetheless. |

| #46 Licorice and echinacea can also be useful to induce immune system activity, I have set this thread as a Classic, so Fred and Gloria can easily find it when they’re ready, and so we can easily find it in the future. As an aside, those who have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are warned against taking echinacea or licorice, because their immune systems are either continuing activity as if facing infection or drained after years of continuing activity as if facing infection. It’s not a proper autoimmune disorder because it does not attack the body, just forgetting to reset to normal when a disease or other immune challenge is over. A real pity, as I love the flavour of echinacea tea. |

| #45 IM[lay]O Hydroxychloroquine if no issues like neurotox (e.g.,QT, retina) or porphyria (even if undiagnosed, or after the virus creates non-genetic pseudo-porphyria ~ about two months after infection, give or take a month), otherwise ivermectin (although it can’t treat CNS infection), *nitazoxanide* probably the most effective antiviral against COVID-19 virus with the greatest safety margins. Alternative remedies most effective IM[lay]O: orange peels or bioflavonoids for hesperidin which blocks viral “docking” spikes, lots of zinc (with copper to offset copper leaching due to “excess“ zinc ), Black Seed (nigella sativa) Oil which has thymoquinone or Wild Bergamont if you can get it which also has thymoquinone (thymoquinone is a GRAS food grade quinoline), folic acid, (folate form is better to avoid toxicity issue, as it converts to folic acid as needed), Wild Yam which has farnesol ID’d in in silico study (the real kind from Africa, not the sweet potato ~ take a look at Covid not spreading so much in Africa, where wild yams are a staple), and copious amounts of green tea which helps zinc get into the cells and supports inducement of T-cell functionality. Licorice and echinacea can also be useful to induce immune system activity, especially if the Covid virus strain has the ORF8 epitope. Blueberries and almonds are good sources for stilbenes to induce production of Cathelicidins, as does vitamin D. Research shows the most dangerous points after hospitalization are day 14 and then again around day 28, regardless of how the patient is “feeling.“ At early stages the biggest concerns are the cytokine storm, which actually is a secondary symptom due to a Bradykinin storm. Lots, and lots, and lots of vitamin D, Lysine and bromelain are helpful. Breathing difficulty usually is related to the Bradykinin storm and the creation of a profoundly hydrophilic acid, which fills lungs with a gel-like substance. Again the vitamin D, Lysine and bromelain should be helpful. Ex-lib and I will be praying our hearts out! Lord have mercy. |

| #13 Tough up. Our house had it in the end of April. You will have a very rough 2 weeks. Make sure you have a mouth guard to protect your teeth while sleeping from grinding in pain! Some major pain killers on top of the other meds are a plus. It's too bad Darvocet is no longer sold. |
