Victor Davis Hanson: Trump Faces a Critical Choice About His Political Future
2020-12-02
[National Review] Will he follow the example of Andrew Jackson, who went on to victory, or sore loser Hillary Clinton?

Donald Trump is nearing a crossroads.

Those who allege that he has endangered the tradition of smooth presidential transitions by not conceding immediately after the media declared him the loser suffer amnesia.

#7  No reason to think he cannot do both. Trump seems to surprise "experts" that way. Fight to the las, and still push hard for the Senate seats, then start making the GOP into a true OPPOSITION part against the progressives and socialists in office, and do that by keeping his coalition of minority middle class, the small business owners, the religious, the anti-TrustFunders, and the populists pushing hard in local, city and state elections to clean up the voting process, elect more Trump type Republicans, and obtain a GOP Senate and House in 2022 with more Trump type members, and set the stage either for his election in 2024, or better yet, a hand picked successor who will hold office for 8 years of "Trumpism" to cement the court and the laws.

#4  Yes, Betty. We understand that Trump is not Ronald Reagan. Sorry, but old Ron was not available.

#2  But he has to stop being Trump and start acting like a restrained, clever, calculating mature adult.

And a pony.

#1  He has to keep fighting for what got him elected: end illegal immigration, detach from China, conclude the forever wars, smash Big Tech, support the police, stand up to black extortionists and thugs, and build up our working and middle classes again with fracking and other old economy industries producing goods here in America.

But he has to stop being Trump and start acting like a restrained, clever, calculating mature adult. Control the id. Get off the Sh!tter and stop trashing people.
