Chinese propaganda outlet paid U.S. newspapers millions of dollars for sympathetic advertisements
2020-11-25
[Just the news] An English-language newspaper run by the Chinese Communist Party has in recent months funneled millions of dollars in printing and advertising expenses to several U.S. media companies, according to a news report.

The report in the Daily Caller is based on a recent Foreign Agents Registration Act filing.

The filing to the Justice Department appears to show China Daily paid the media companies close to $2 million dollars from May to October.

The Wall Street Journal received just over $85,000, while the Los Angeles Times took $340,000. Foreign Policy magazine also secured a $100,000 deal. Other media companies to receive money included The Boston Globe, Houston Chronicle, and U.K.-based Financial Times, the Daily Caller reports.

According to a June FARA disclosure, China Daily has paid The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post a combined $10 million in advertising costs in the past four years.
The Chinese then realized it was cheaper to buy the Bidens.

#3  /\ That really is the Klingon and shadow gov't goal. But, not unlike the recent election, THEY will make the actual media selections for us.

#2  I seems to remember a time when one could only own one or two newspapers at a time, and one could only own one radio station OR TV station at a time.

why not go back to those times?

#1  Our local newspaper was purchased by the same unknown owners syndicate group that owns USA TODAY and now 300++ other local US newspapers. (Talk about an Information Monopoly).

Our once local politically balanced Newspaper laid off local staff left and right, increasing using out of state staff to E-Publish a paper and suddenly became upper Liberal.

Reader comments on bias articles and OP-Ed's were then shut down, The Rants and Raves section, a local reader submitted Venting comment section suspiciously went near total ANTI-TRUMP at Warp speed.

When will the FTC start looking into MSM monopolies and where $$$$ is coming from?
