| Social activist arrested for offering 'Namaz' inside temple |

| [DAILYTIMES.PK] Police in Uttar Pradesh’s famous city of Mathura has started the paperwork but haven't done much else against four members of Delhi-based origination "Khudai Khidmatgar", a well-known organization working for communal harmony, and arrested its leader Faisal Khan. Faisal Khan has been charged with spreading hatred among various groups on religious grounds, desecrating the temple and misbehaving with the people. Police registered case against him for offering ’Namaz’ inside Temple without permission. Four members of the Khudai Khidmatgar organization, Faisal Khan, Chand Mohammad, Alok Ratan, and Nilesh Gupta set out on a long bicycle journey with a message of love and brotherhood to teach sectarian harmony in temples and mosques. He paid his obeisance there. That was the time of his afternoon prayers, so he asked for a suitable place. The people who were there in the temple allowed him to offer prayers in the temple compound itself by saying that you are already in the home of God so why do you need to go anywhere else. Hearing it, Faisal Khan completed his prayers. After it, he and other members stayed in the Temple for some more time and they had their lunch in the same temple, Gupta added. "Everything was fine. On October 29 the Yatra was completed and he returned to Delhi with all. After 3 days he got the information from some local media people that there are some people who are not happy with the incidents, which took place on 29th October and they are going to complain with the police, "he added. The trial and arrest came after a complaint was lodged by a temple priest a day earlier. Among the four members of Khudai Khidmatgar, who cycled with the message of sectarian harmony, were two Hindus and two Moslems. Temple members say the prayers have polluted the temple, for which preparations are being made to clean the entire temple and premises with the holy water of the Ganga. |
