For the 7 day period Updated October 23, 2020 25,660 people in the USA died from ALL causes and of that 1,035 are claimed to have died from only C-19. SO, C-19 accounted for just less than 1/25th of all deaths in the USA for the reported period. So out of a population of 342,000,000 (342M) the C-19 killed 0.00030350877192982455 of %1 of the population during this time frame. Or, if you are an optimist C-19 DID NOT KILL 99.99969649122807% of the US population for the last reported time frame. YEAR TO DATE FIGURES 8,553,827 Infected out of 342 Million over the last 285+ days. Records claim 224,221 to have died from C-19 and other issues. Year to Date Odds of dying form the C-19 0.06556169590643274 of 1% Year to Date Odds of NOT dying from the C-19 99.93443830409357% While we have had clams of 8,553,827 Infected that equals 2.50% of the USA Population that got the C-19. Of the 8,553,827 claimed infected 224,221 are claimed to have died due the C-19. That equals 2.62% died IF they were unlucky enough to be part of 2.50% that even got infected. OH! Although, to the best of my knowledge, the current data is that outside gatherings are low risk - you need a serious dose of the virus to become infected. The variation in the speed and intensity of SARS-CoV-2 transmission and severity of the resulting COVID-19 disease are still imperfectly understood. We postulate a dose-response relationship in COVID-19, and that ―the dose of virus in the initial inoculum‖ is an important missing link in understanding several incompletely explained observations in COVID-19 as a factor in transmission dynamics and severity of disease. We hypothesize that: (1) Viral dose in inoculum is related to severity of disease, (2) Severity of disease is related to transmission potential, and (3) In certain contexts, chains of severe cases can build up to severe local outbreaks, and large-scale intensive epidemics. Considerable evidence from other infectious diseases substantiates this hypothesis and recent evidence from COVID-19 points in the same direction. If proven, our hypothesis could explain several of these lacunae in understanding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and strengthen the scientific basis for deciding priority containment measures in various contexts. And that, IMO, explains why masks work. |
