Gotta always be weary of the POGs!
When did POGs come into fashion? I was in the early 90s and we always used REMFs.

#8  Well that killed his chances.

#7  I used to think that Heinlein's idea from "Starship Troopers", that only vets could vote or hold office, was pretty good. Then I realized that the composition of that breed of politician would, in all likelihood, be 97.36% REMFs.

#6  Debt? A debt is like, y'know, Antifa: an idea

#5  I don't think the deficit matters anymore, simply because the debt is too big to ever pay back. And yeah, combat veterans don't get automatic ups, but no group should, to be honest. Look at what they're actually proposing. No matter their background, a Democrat running for office is usually running on social justice and socialism. Then figure that the majority of those who aren't can be guilted or backstabbed into cooperating with those ideologies. Mileage may vary by region and state (but generally not for Senate seats).

#4  After Kerry, McCain, McSally et al I don't give automatic ups to "combat veterans" anymore.

I won't even mention Petraeus, McChrystal and McMaster since they're not (yet) running for office.

What's with all the people whose surname starts with "Mc", anyway?

#3  Mary Jennings Hegar (Democratic Party) (also known as M. J.) is running for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Texas.

Hegar was a Democratic candidate for Texas' 31st Congressional District in the U.S. House. Hegar lost the general election on November 6, 2018, after advancing from the primary runoff on May 22, 2018.

Meet MJ

A combat veteran, working mom, and Texan, MJ Hegar doesn’t back down from a fight when it means standing up for what’s right.

#2  (1) I'm a little leery of those too, but we gotta row in the same direction.
(2) I knew he is running for re-election, but have yet to hear who's running against him.
