Texas sees huge turnout on first day of early voting with over 1M ballots cast
2020-10-15
[FoxNews] More than 16 million Americans have voted in the election so far, according to data released Friday by the United States Elections Project, which compiles early-voting data. By way of comparison, as of Oct. 16, 2016, some 1.4 million Americans had already cast their ballot.

More than 50 million people have requested mail-in ballots this year, the data shows. In 2016, some 57.2 million Americans voted early in person, by mail or via absentee ballot. State election officials in several key swing states have warned it could take days to count all of the votes. All but about a half-dozen states allow some form of early in-person voting.

Trump has repeatedly claimed that mail-in voting would allow for widespread fraud, but experts have said such fraud is rare.

According to an aggregate of polls from RealClearPolitics, Trump is leading Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden by 4.4 percentage points in Texas.

#5  I believe they pay the poll workers in Georgia, don't know if it's that way everywhere.

#4  The longer the voting period, the harder it is to find volunteers to run the show. We voted yesterday, waited 20 minutes - longer than usual, but there were not fewer voting booths, as I feared might happen with the longer voting period. Son voted today, waited 15 minutes. I suspect next week, there will be no line outside the fire station.

In the big blue cities, lack of volunteers could result in long lines, and screams of "voter suppression".

#3  Theager Borgia, I'm beginning to feel that is what the push for mail in voting was all about. I expect them to encourage not voting in protest or something next in order to hide the size of the red wave.

#2  Need to hurry and lock in the Dem votes before the Biden scandal and his senility completely destroy the Dem candidacy.

#1  Very helpful. Lets the Dems know just how many ballots they need to 'find' by election day.
