10 Civilians Toes Up in Herat Blasts

Five civilians, including women and kiddies, were killed and 13 others were maimed after their vehicle was struck a roadside mine in Kesh-e-Kohna district of the province, said Tariq Arian, a front man for the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

"The civilians were on the way to a wedding party when the incident happened," said Jailani Farhad, a front man for the provincial governor. "The mine was placed by the Taliban

Arian also said that five other non-combatants were killed in a remote-controlled mine blast in Asmar district this morning.

No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibly for the blasts.

On Wednesday, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior on social media announced that the Taliban initiated "575 attacks, including 92 mine blasts and suicide kabooms" against "civilians and security forces" in the past two weeks, and "251 non-combatants were killed and maimed."
