Poll: 83% of Orthodox Jews Support Donald Trump; 13% Support Joe Biden
2020-10-15
[Breitbart] A new poll by Ami Magazine reveals that 83% of Orthodox Jews would vote to re-elect President Donald Trump, versus 13% who would vote for former Vice President Joe Biden, if the election were held today.

There was striking unanimity among younger voters: 100% of those aged 18 to 20 supported Trump. Among those over 65, the proportion dropped to 59%.

The poll also showed that 76% believe that President Trump receives "mostly unfair" coverage from the mainstream media. Moreover, 87% said they would feel "more safe" in "the presence of armed and trained congregants" attending services to prevent attacks.

On the coronavirus pandemic, a plurality (37%) said that the threat is real but that government guidelines were "excessive," while 32% said that "everyone should follow the government guidelines."

The poll included 1,000 respondents in 22 states. The margin of error was 3.1% at a 95% confidence level.

A recent Jerusalem Post poll found that 63% of Israelis prefer that Americans vote for Trump, versus 19% for Biden.

Enthusiasm is high for Trump in Israel, which has even named a town for the president, following his achievements for the U.S.-Israel relationship, fulfilling the many promises he made in his 2016 presidential campaign.

However, most American Jews are liberal and vote Democratic. A recent poll of the overall Jewish community found that Biden led Trump, 67% to 30% — though Trump’s showing was tied for the highest among recent Republican candidates.

#9  I consider myself Christian. My wife considers herself Jewish. She was brought up as an Orthodox Jew. We respect each other’s religion and learn from each other. Many seem to forget that Jesus was a Jew and that the OT is a part of the Bible.
Both of Mrs. JQCs parents were survivors of the holocaust. They know something about slavery first hand in more recent times. I am forever grateful to her parents as they have always been accepting of me and have always been very helpful to us. Her aunts and uncles, who survived the concentration camps have always been that way towards me also. I have always viewed this first generation of Jewish Americans as very special as they are very patriotic and appreciative of America (the ones I know).

In the past, my in-laws tended to vote Democrat. Their view changed and they tended to regard the last administration as unfriendly towards Jewish people with some of the tendencies and threats which they saw during the National Socialist German Workers' Party rise to power in Germany prior to WWII.

#8  Very interesting account TW.

U.S. orthodox Jews tend to be more in tune with Israel than U.S. liberal Jews are. Trump has shown support for Israel in his many actions.

#7  Thank you trailing wife. Fred Trump sounds like a good father. Involved and responsible.

#6  Vespasian: claiming De Blasio is antisemitic because he cracks down on Haredi covid-spreading behavior is like blaming cops who kill violent black criminals.
And the reason I'm disturbed by this, is because I remember "the boy who cried wolf".

#5  I consider an anti-Semitic as a Gentile of anti-Jewish sentiment. Conflicts within the Jewish family as a family-feud.

#3  ^As I pointed out before, the Haredim is a special case. Israel has as much trouble with them as NYC. Which, in your book, would make us Anti-Semitic?

#2  Quite the opposite of the NYC Mayor who is doing everything he can to PREVENT worship services by the Jewish community.

#1  There is a story circulating on Facebook about the Trumps and the Orthodox Jewish community in New York City, backed up by links to old newspaper reports and first person witness in the comments, that explains the basis for this love:

After World War II, a young holocaust survivor and Rabbi, arrived in New York City. He would conduct Shabbat services in the basement garage of the apartment building he lived in. Many other survivors and Jews from Europe had moved to the same building they would attend the services. Their weekly Shabbat grew rapidly.

The Rabbi had an idea. He approached the landlord of the building. The landlord was a millionaire. His parents were German, and the Holocaust and World War ll were both still fresh in the minds of people.

Nevertheless, the Rabbi asked the landlord if he would help them with a new larger space.

The landlord agreed.

He donated a piece of real estate at 723 Avenue Z. This became the Beach Haven Jewish Centre and it is still open to this day. The landlord also gave his own financial contribution for the building of a synagogue.

In 1956, when the cornerstone for the new synagogue was laid, the landlord attended the ceremony as well.

This landlord quickly became good friends with the Rabbi. He would help out other Jews in desperate need of assistance and provide extremely generous financial aid.

The landlord also continued providing financial aid to the synagogue over the years.

He was a generous and kind Christian man and he would instill his own respect for the Jews into his 14-year-old son, who was a wild and adventurous boy.

Today, the Rabbi's own son vividly recalled seeing landlord's 14-year-old boy collecting coins from the laundry machines as he and his fellow Jews were praying the morning prayers.

The landlord was teaching his son the importance of responsibility.

Anyway, the landlord's name was Fred Trump.

And his 14-year-old boy was Donald Trump.

And as the Rabbi's son recalls, Donald learned to be a supporter of Israel and generous friend of the Jews from his own father.

The Rabbis said this about Fred Trump in a recent news article: “His respect for my father was incredible. He was a fine person with a generous heart. I have no doubt that that merit helped Donald Trump, who was always very respectful of his own father and obeyed him in everything.”
