Texas Republican who called COVID a 'scamdemic' organized family party that ended up killing his father-in-law, his partner's grandmother and leaving him close to death in hospital
2020-10-13
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Tony Green, 43, from Dallas, threw the gathering for six people on June 13

  • Within days Green and his relatives began feeling poorly, he said in a Op-Ed

  • Weeks later the virus had 'torn up his family' after 14 of them fell ill and two died

  • Green said he himself became so ill he was eventually hospitalized with doctors

  • He was joined in the hospital by his father in law, Rafael Ceja, and his partner's grandmother; they both later died of the virus, Green confirmed
Statistically speaking, it had to happen to somebody.

#14  It's interesting that" (a) he's described as a Republican but doesn't hold office. Just a Republican voter which isn't really relevant to the article. The irony of his being a denier is what is relevant (b) he's described as gay. Its mentioned so matter-of-factly that I found it interesting.

Also one can feel the Covid is real, but the hysteria has turned it into a Scamdemic without being inconsistent at all.

#12  Mr. Green is in agony, because he believes it is his fault. Maybe it is, and maybe it's not.

As TW suggests (#7), perhaps some contact tracing is in order.

#10  #3 and #7 - I like to try to read the original article, not somebody's interpretation thereof.

Perhaps I'll go read the op-ed, to see if treatments were discussed.

#8  but doesn’t the Rona have a two week incubation period?

According to Chinese July paper The incubation period of COVID-19, which is the time between exposure to the virus and symptom onset, is on average 5-6 days, but can be as long as 14 days.

According to wordometer incubation period of COVID-19 is 2 - 14 days.

#7  From NN2N1’s link:

my partner and I hosted family members on Saturday, June 13. On Sunday, June 14, I woke up sick.

By Monday, June 15, my partner and my parents were all sick. That same Monday, my in-laws traveled to witness the birth of their first grandchild. They took with them my father-in-law’s mother and one of my partner’s sisters. That night my father-in-law became ill. Then my mother-in-law and their daughter began feeling sick. So they cut their trip short.

Two days later, my father-in-law’s mother got sick. The new mommy and daddy got sick, too. We all tested positive for COVID-19. Only the newborn was spared.

The timing is not really emphasized in the Daily Mail article, but doesn’t the Rona have a two week incubation period? I would be interested to know if the entire family came down with the same strain, and if there had been any contact between various members in the two weeks before the dinner.

#5  And many Israeli top virologists and epidemiologists have signed the Great Barrington Declaration. The above piece is, well, fake news.

#3   For What Its Worth...
Strange the C-19 singled out this high profile Anti C-19 Virus Gay couple and related older family isn't it.

Having read Mr. Greens submitted written OPT-ED
See: https://dallasvoice.com/a-harsh-lesson-in-the-reality-of-covid-19/

I find the whole CNN/WAPO/FB pushed story questionable and reading more like an attempt to write a C-19 support agenda piece.

Just my opinion...

#2  Can we see how many people who are lockdown fanatics have lost relatives to say cancer and all the other diseases killing far more people than COVID every day.

I wonder have the daily COVID deaths caught up to FLU deaths.
