Biden says he will make Roe v. Wade "the law of the land"
2020-10-07
BLUF:
[Not The Bee] "We don't know exactly what she will do," Biden said, referring to Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barret. "Although expectation is that she may very well move to ... overrule Roe. And the only thing, the only responsible response to that would be to pass legislation making Roe the law of the land. That's what I would do."

#3  Despite the hysteria from the left, if Roe v Wade were to be overturned tomorrow, abortion would not become illegal. All that would happen is that states could make it illegal, if they wanted to.

IIRC, even before Roe v. Wade, abortion was legal in New York State.

#2  Be Careful What You Wish Forâ„¢...
I have always mused on what would happen if the Equal Rights Act had been passed into law and it's partisans had bee told the next day that ALL Marriage, Divorce and Custody law was now "not equal" therefore Null and Void.

#1  That is actually a rollback. Justice White defined the three trimesters in the decision. Basically it said the state had no say in the first. The viability of children due to contemporary medical science of the time meant that the state DID have a say in the third trimester. The second trimester was the gray zone because of moving developments in medical science. Roe vs Wade as a standard would shut down much of the Baal worshipers infanticide (can you say partial birth abortion?) and make a very serious dent in Planned Parenthood's operations.
