New York Times: More than 60 Percent of Latinos Reject Progressives' Identity Politics
2020-09-21
[BREITBART] Only about 25 percent of Latinos identify with Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
...Candidate for president in 2020. Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids....
’s progressive identity politics, while more than 60 percent of Latinos favor Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
’s populist, pro-American pitch, according to a September 18 report in the New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

.The study asked voters and focus group for their views on "a dog-whistle message lifted from Republican talking points ... [about] ’illegal immigration from places overrun with drugs and criminal gangs’ and called for ’fully funding the police, so our communities are not threatened by people who refuse to follow our laws,’" the authors wrote in their September 18 op-ed.

The shocked authors reported, "Almost three out of five white respondents judged the message convincing. More surprising, exactly the same percentage of African-Americans agreed, as did an even higher percentage of Latinos."

The political problem for Biden’s progressive allies is that only about 25 percent of Latinos identify themselves as a progressive-style "people of color" identity group, the authors said. The majority of Latinos "rejected this designation [because] they preferred to see Hispanics as a group integrating into the American mainstream, one not overly bound by racial constraints but instead able to get ahead through hard work."

#10  /\#8, ...and many of the Central Americans and South Americans I worked with quietly loathed Mexicans. It seems that on their way through Mexico they were harassed, fleeced and abused by the natives. Small anecdotal sample, but it is silly to think that everyone Hablé de español? from south of the border thinks in lock step.

#9  The people I see busing tables and working as landscapers may speak a dialect of Spanish but they are not Spanish and they are not white. Recent immigrants may not be well educated but they're not stupid. The ones who have been here a while are catching on.

#8  Latin is an ethnic classification. Hispanic comes from the Roman name for their province of Hispania which today is modern Spain. Spain is part of Europe thus 'white'. Not to be confused with mestizos y indios which the Left lump together as Hispanic or Latinx.

#7  @6 Didn't they know that is white supremacy!?!?!

Or are they white supremacists now? I get so confused.

#6  Many of the Latinos I met at work, green card holders, came from small towns and farms where the ethic was hard work and not rioting.

#5  It'll be fun to see how high Trump's Latino support goes when he nominates the Cuban-American judge Barbara Lagoa for SCOTUS. Landslide, anyone?

#4  This is why the Democrats are melting down now. Without 90% of the black vote and 70% of the Hispanic vote, they can't win a national election.

They know the polls that show Biden the puppet ahead by 6, 8, 10 points are complete bullshit and that the reality on the ground is that Trump is not just ahead but actually pulling away. Privately they admit this but none (except maybe Ed Rendell) will say so publicly.

#3  Dyed in the wool Catholics, not the 'liberation' theology types that occupy some of the top positions. They understand the difference between tolerance and submission.

#2  This also means you can kiss Blue Texas goodbye.

#1  I'm guessing the Hispanic repudiation is even greater. There is no way Dems win with these numbers.
