in western Badghis province on Tuesday night, local officials said on Wednesday.
The festivities took place in Qads district after "a huge number of Taliban" attacked the center of the district, said Mohammad Haidar Sharifi, district governor.
"Three Taliban were also killed and four others were maimed in the festivities," he said.
The Taliban has not commented over the festivities.
