were killed and 11 others were maimed in festivities with security forces in northern Faryab province on Tuesday, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Wednesday.
The festivities occurred in Dawlat Abad and Almar districts of the province as "the Taliban were planning to attack security checkpoints and the forces prevent their attacks with air support of the Afghan air forces," the statement said.
