2020-07-26 |
More on this story from yesterday. [Overture plays as Rantburg audience seat themselves] [NYPOST] Heavily armed militias took to the streets of Louisville Saturday as hundreds of protesters descended on the Kentucky city. Chorus: "We are the heavily-armed militias! Descending upon the city of Louisville! From Chicago come we! And from Peoria!" Despite the rising tensions as a Black Lives Matter group dubbed NAFC, "We are the Black Lives Matter group NAFC! But we're not particularly blaaack!" or “Not F**cking Around Coalition,” "We're not flocking around now! Fear us with our mighty guns!" arrived and were met by the far-right militia group the Three Percenters, "We are the far-right militia group, The Three-percenters! We are loaded! Yes! Locked and loaded!" the only apparent shots to ring out were friendly fire, police said. Tenor: "Listen! Is there firing?" Contralto: "Yes, but it is friendly!" Baritone: "Friendly! Yes the fire is friendly!" Chorus: "Friendly! Friendly! Friendly!" Basso: "Owwwww!" At least three people were hurt when the gunfire erupted around 1 p.m. near Baxter Square Park. "Bang bang bang bang!" "Bang bang bang bag!" "Owww!" Baritone: "Fear not the fire, it is friendly!" "Bang bang bang bang!" "Bang bang bang bag!" "Owww!" One NFAC member told the crowd, “we had a little accident, it happens,” according to a report. Chorus: "An accident!" "Just a little accident!" "It happens!" "Yes, it does!" Tenor: "Just a little accident!" At least two people were taken out on stretchers, one local reporter noted on social media. "Soprano: "On stretchers!" Chorus: "Make way for the stretchers!" Tenor: "Just a little accident!" Three victims went to the University of Louisville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Duet (Soprano and Tenor): S: "Their injuries..." T: "They are not life-threatening!" S: "Not life-threatening!" T: "No they aaaaiint!" Basso: "Owww!" S: "But painful!" T: "Yes they aaaaare!" “All involved are members of the NFAC and there are no outstanding suspects,” said Assistant Chief of Police Robert Schroeder. Chorus: "Make way! Make way! For Assistant Chief Robert Schrooooeder!" T, in waltz time: "All those involved Are members of the NFAC, It turns out They were flocking around After alllll!" “This is a tragic situation that could have been much worse. B: "How tragic! How tragic the situation!" Contralto: "But it coulda been so much woooorse!" Chorus: "It coulda been so much worse." I encourage anyone choosing to exercise their Second Amendment rights to do so responsibly.” Baritone: "I encourage Anyone choosing to exercise Their second amendment rights To do so..." Chorus: "To do so!" Baritone: "To do so most responsiblyyyy!" Basso: "Owwwww!" Police in riot gear stood between the two groups, said the Louisville Courier-Journal. Aria, soprano: "Police in riot gear Stood between the groups Their chief was afraid That they might get hurt But still they stood Really, they weren't in Den-verrr!" The stand off of protesters and counter-protesters was sparked after the NFAC announced it would go to Louisville to demonstrate against the March killing of Breonna Taylor by police. Chorus: "The stand off of protesters And counter-protesters Was sparked after the NFAC Announced Yes, they announced it! That they would go to Louisville To demonstrate Against the March killing Of Breonna Taylor by police. They didn't kill each other Not no one! Just a few casualties Inflicted on themselves! Inflicted upon themselves!" Basso: "Owwwww!"" That prompted the Three Percenters to announce it would have “boots on the ground” in the city, according to the Courier Journal. Contralto: "Then the Three-percenters They announced, Yes, they announced That they would be there too!" Members of the Three Percenters showed up heavily armed with assault rifles, handguns and ammo clips, the newspaper reported. Tenor: "Members of the Three Percenters They arrived Yes, They arrived And they were armed Yes, they were armed With assault Rifles!" Baritone: "And handguns!" Soprano: "And fearsome, fearsome ammo clips!" The group had contended it wanted to support police. Tennor and Barritone: "We are here to support the police To support the police To support the police!" Chorus: "They are here to support the police!" Basso: "Owww!"
