Trump threatens to pull tax exemption for schools, colleges
2020-07-11
[Ynet] U.S. President Donald Trump is threatening to abolish tax exemptions for schools and colleges due to what he calls "radical Left Indoctrination."

Trump said on Twitter on Friday he was ordering the Treasury Department to re-examine the tax-exempt status of schools that he says provide "radical indoctrination" instead of education.

"Too many Universities and School Systems are about radical Left Indoctrination, not Education," he tweeted.

"Therefore, I am telling the Treasury Department to re-examine their Tax-Exempt Status and/or Funding, which will be taken away if this Propaganda or Act Against Public Policy continues. Our children must be Educated, not Indoctrinated."

#13  #11: I think it's becoming more and more obvious we need another revolution, rather than a different Constitution. Our constitution is great, but only when the "elected officials" follow it. The only set of laws more broken than the Constitution is the 10 Commandments.

#12  Moving the Overton Window on the subject. Also, laser pointing for the journalists/Progressives/Democrats to leap at while other things get quietly done, about which we will hear later.

#9  Separation of church and state does not mean churches get a free ride on taxes. Unless you are going to minimize taxes for everyone (which ain't gonna happen), then tax the church and the oodles of land and property it owns.

#8  The churches are all political now, tax them too.

#7  Tax the rich (endowments)!

I know higher education believes they have a religious exemption since they worship themselves, but we must cast down all icons. Alinsky them.

#6  I am sure revenue from NCAA football (where applicable) will be enough to tide them over.
