LTC Vindman to retire..... | |||||||
2020-07-09 | |||||||
The statement from his lawyer is a marvel of blame shifting. Read it, and be amazed. Mike [LawAndCrime] After more than 21 years of military service,
Through a campaign of bullying, intimidation, and retaliation, the President of the UnitedStates attempted to force LTC Vindman to choose: Between adhering to the law or pleasing a President. Between honoring his oath or protecting his career. Between protecting his promotion or the promotion of his fellow soldiers. these are choices that no one in the United States should confront, especially one who has dedicated his life to serving it.
LTC Vindman’s patriotic

#11 Ref #5: B, we can be sure that any Art 32 investigation will be kept in the same place as Kerry's personnel file. His file, ORB, etc are safely tucked away in the Department of The Army Special Roster (DASR). We'll not be hearing much more from him. |

#10 #9 Nobody would let a REMF like Alex actually command people in combat - this ain't WWI. |

#9 #8 I guess that regimental XO spot in Guam that he was aimed at was less than enticing. Posted by: ed in texas 2020-07-09 15:53 ...I'd like to think that somebody pointed out to him that since all Colonels want to be Generals, he could expect his combat assignment as soon as he put on his eagles. I suspect that the last thing he'd want is to be out there on the pointy end. Mike |

#6 So now we'll have to reassess our global security posture? "Master Sergeant Jones, LTC Vindman just retired!!" "That's it. We're toast." |

#4 Anyone subject to the code (Uniform Code of Military Justice) can bring charges against anyone else subject to the code. However, any investigation (Article 32) or subsequent action is done through the accused's chain of command. The individual involved has been reassigned and is no longer to be in the cocoon of the Military District of Washington. Given his rights under Article 138, he and legal advisor had to come to the conclusion that they had no case that could prevail. Better deal to take retirement and a consulting job with any of the cable propaganda arms of the Global Socialists. |

#2 Wikipedia: An article 32 hearing is required before a defendant can be referred to a general court-martial, in order to determine whether there is enough evidence to merit a general court-martial. Offenders in the US military may face non-judicial punishment, a summary court-martial, special court-martial, general court-martial, or administrative separation. |

#1 My guess (and only a guess) is that Vindman was the subject of a highly classified Article-32 investigation. The preliminary findings of the investigation may have led him to "retire for the good of the service." His previously predicted retirement diffuses the Duckworth 'promotion freeze' action and likely terminates any additional investigation and unpleasantness (examination of his actual duties and connections). Look for him to land a GG-15 (06 equivalent) position in local D.C. government within 90 days. |
