Writing for The National Lampoon before writing for Hollywood and making actual money. Turns out he was an ugly bigot the whole time. "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
Or perhaps it was the usual National Lampoon juvenile humour.

#5  Eastwood's Gran Torino was rich in language and faux bigotry. Very humorous but not PC for today's social justice warriors; OTOH, they have no sense of humor. They panned this film.

#1  If you don't have a broad sense of humor, you shouldn't open the covers of National Lampoon.

If you're convinced this is the work of a "bigot", don't watch "Blazing Saddles" or "Airplane" or "Kentucky Fried Movie".
