Colorado gov. reopens investigation into Elijah McClain’s death - he died after cops placed in chokehold and sedated with ketamine on his way home from convenience store

  • Gov. Jared Polis announced Thursday he has ordered prosecutors to reopen the inquiry into the black unarmed 23-year-old's death

  • He said the state 'owe[s] it to his family to take this step' and warned that charges could be brought against the cops involved

  • AG Phil Weiser has been designated special prosecutor to the case

  • This comes after Colorado DA Dave Young defended his decision to not charge three Aurora Police Department officers over the fatal arrest

  • Elijah McClain, 23, died in police custody last year after buying iced tea from a convenience store and being stopped by cops for being 'suspicious'

  • Police body camera footage showed that McClain briefly fainted, vomited repeatedly, said 'I can't breathe' and cried before going into cardiac arrest

#8  Don't get me wrong, tampering with body cams is an autoflag and using sedatives in a hospital is a specialist's job.

Aurora is Greater Denver, and this case was not an issue four weeks ago.

DM is also an autoflag; as Michael Brown was just buying some cigars.

#6  Version I read suggested odd things regarding body cameras falling off, being picked, and then told to drop them again. Don't know how credible that all was but odd if the cameras shot that.
