#6 Statues are paid for with Federal money, or matching private funds, or State money, or wholly private funds. Some are commercially gifted to cities. Same as CV-19. If Mayors and/or Governors are not going to protect their citizens or infrastructure with the instruments they have available to them, only then would we expect the Federal Government to act for the common good. Even the action taken is no assurance history and it's memorabilia will be protected. Too many folks sittin' back and taken their slice. |

#3 The sad thing is it took the President of the United States, sitting in the highest office in the land, to take action on the bullshi*, and as DT said, we're still unsure of the actual outcomes. A pox be upon local politicians, a lingering pox with draining, itching abscesses of the eyes, mouth, and nether regions. |

#1 “I have authorized the Federal Government to arrest anyone who vandalizes or destroys any monument, statue or other such Federal property in the U.S. with up to 10 years in prison, per the Veteran’s Memorial Preservation Act, or such other laws that may be pertinent,” Trump tweeted. Good start, but we'll see how well that ends up in court and I doubt it protects statues on private property like collages. Still for a whiff of grapeshot on these people. |
