| #3 The explosion was 2 minutes after the full pressure, "complete wet" full tank static fire was completed. Speculation is that in the process of removing the fuel and oxidizer, one of the hoses/connections failed, releasing propellant that came into contact with the still hot engine bell, and that resulted in an explosion. So its looking like a test equipment failure, not a rocket or engine failure. And yes, this was Starship prototype, SN4. Not the Falcon/Dragon thats launching at the cape tomorrow. |
