| #1 THE FATEMIYOUN DIVISION - Middle East Institute [Search domain www.mei.edu) The Fatemiyoun Division is an Iranian-led Shi'i militia active in Syria composed primarily of ethnic Hazara residents in Iran. The Quds Force deployed the Fatemiyoun Brigade to Syria in 2014 to fight alongside pro-Assad forces. They have fought major campaigns in Aleppo, Daraa, and Palmyra. |
