#6   we probably have plans for everything

Let's hope! And speaking as your Career Advisor, in the staff meeting when it all starts to go south, you don't want to be the guy who says "Doh! We never thought of that."

#5  Oh this is so neat-o, getting to see government plans for a contingency. Now show us the one about how we invade Mexico to stabilize it, or Canada if they get into a civil war over Quebec separatism, the update of "War Plan Crimson".

Of course we have a plan for it - we probably have plans for everything from "The Big One" earthquake in Cali to an Alien invasion of China.

#4  Chile and Argentina have territorial claims in Antarctica that they still hold. Back in the 80's I heard there was an OPLAN involving sending Rangers to rescue American citizens at Little American research station from Chilean and/or Argentinan occupiers... OPLANs are like that with some realistic and some straight out of fantasy land.

#2  OPLANs are like the coach's playbook. Given that no one has actually practiced one on any playing field, you can guess how smooth it will all be. None usually contain any options dependent upon the opfor's reactions.

#1  One of 5029+ OPlans to do one thing or another? Probably dozens just for this.
