2020-04-29 |
[BREITBART] As Congress weighs another relief package amid the ongoing coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)![]() pandemic which has many small businesses closed until stay-at-home orders are lifted, House Speaker Nancy San Fran NanPelosi Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments... (D-CA) floated out the possibility of a minimum guaranteed income for workers. Pelosi said on "MSNBC Live" a minimum guaranteed income is "perhaps" now "worthy" of getting looked at being added into the next funding package. "[A]s we go forward, let’s see what works," Pelosi outlined. "What is operational, and what needs other attention? Others have suggested a minimum ... guaranteed income for people. Is that worthy of attention now? Perhaps so because there are many more people than just in small business and hired by small business as important as that is to the vitality of our economy and other people who are not in the public sector meeting our needs in so many ways that may need some assistance as well." She added, "But again, recognize the realities of it all. What is the execution of it? What is working? And ... what are we getting our money’s worth on? I think we have to look at that, too. How is the money being spent? With all the best intentions in the world, but nonetheless, we want the money to go where it needs." |

#12 A lot of people simply don't get the "Any government that is powerful enough to give you something is also powerful enough to take it away." formulation. |

#11 So Pelosi wants to buy votes. Right? |

#10 Now if you took all the funded programs for low income/poverty and lumped their monies into one big pool then distributed those monies directly to the recipients eliminating all those white collar middle income clerical bureaucratic jobs, you probably could achieve this already without increasing the budget. But where's the graft in that? |

#9 "[A]s we go forward, let’s see what works," Pelosi outlined. Just make any law, see what happens, and then blame the other party for everything is not a way to run a country. |

#8 Pelosi should start by giving away her fortune to her "guaranteed income cause" which she grifted from the American people. This has not worked very well in other places. The States already have unemployment compensation. These people like to redistribute other people's hard-earned income. |

#7 ^Well, we would need to triage: not waste resources on hopeless cases - just as they did with CV19 cases in NYC. |

#6 ^ No way! AOC and Maxine Waters alone would sap the top 5% |

#5 ^There ought to be a law requiring high IQ individuals to donate a few of their IQ points to these less fortunate. In fact, why settle for half-measures? Lets go full Harrison Bergeron. |

#4 A minimum IQ might go a long way, too. |

#3 Is the government going to wave a magic wand and guarantee a minimum productivity to produce this wage? |

#2 A Congresswoman's pay is a good starting point. |

#1 ...Yet one more solution in search of a problem, especially as the only way it works is if you also pass a law that says employers can't cut your pay to compensate. Mike |
