According to a statement released by MoD, the Talibs carried out mortar attack on Gardez city, the historic provincial capital of Paktiya province.
The statement further added that the mortar rounds landed on civilian houses in Gardez city which killed two women and child.
"Hearts and Minds, Oh brave lions of Islam!"
The Ministry of Defense also added that the attack maimed another child.
